Farmington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit 19th century home and former hemp plantation. The historic home, completed in 1816, is located on 18 acres in the heart of Jefferson County. Farmington provides the community with a fun, family-friendly environment to learn about Louisville’s rich history and life on a 19th century farm through preservation, exhibitions and education.

Farmington Historic Plantation is pleased to announce that we have been selected as a participant in the Kentucky Department of Agritulture's Hemp Pilot Program. As a participant, our executive director, Diane Young will conduct research on several varities of hemp that will be grown on our property. We hope to have around an acre of hemp under cultivation for the 2016 year with plans to expand in 2017. We will update this page as we get closer to the planting season.

If you would like to schedule a tour of our hemp field that includes a brief lecture of Kentucky's hemp history and our current role in the hemp industry, please email Devin Payne Serke directly at The cost is $10 per person. These tours are limited.
